Ancient Horses Club

Thu Dec 7, 2006, 3:19 PM
updates
(12/07) Another small update on AHC. =sidneyeileen submitted a tattoo design that might need some explaining from my part. Although technically not a specific 'ancient breed' the piece in question depicts an ancient Gaelic/Celtic horse 'design' as (romantically) seen in early medieval times (meaning before Charlemagne but don't pin me down on its historical accuracy as early medieval history is not part of my field as a historian) and therefore actually a very interesting addition to the club.

In addition, please welcome our latest member ~Mich31.

Submissions are still very, very welcome. Don't hesitate to contact me. You can also contact me about a submission involving a horse or pony breed that is not (yet) listed. There are still many old and ancient horsebreeds I have yet to add to the list so don't expect a no beforehand. I'm quite lenient!

=shadowfax88 has submitted some ideas for promiting the club a bit but unfortunately, my health is not permitting much online time at the moment so it'll have to wait. If any of you wish to promote the club, be sure to let me know via a note. I will of course check in from time to time for updates and what not.

What about the Great Black Horse, precurser and thought to be foundation stock for the Shire horse and Clydesdale--who are also thought to have Friesian, and Arabian influences from the time of War Horses? Would they count as old breeds?
